Hellenic Organization for Standardization
ELOT Standards
The Hellenic Organization for Standardization (ELOT) is a non-profit organization established by Law 372/76. It is subsidized and operating under the supervision of the State, which is exercised by the Minister of Development. It has been governed by an Administrative Council since 1997-06-25. ELOT acts as a public Limited Company according to Law 2414/96 and the P.D. 155/GG131/A/ 1997-06-25.
ELOT's primary objective is the promotion and the application of standardization in Greece.
The main activities of the Organization are:
the elaboration and dissemination of standards;
the granting of conformity (quality) marks, certificates of conformity;
the certification of company quality systems;
the execution of laboratory tests;
inspections;
training and education;
information on Standards; and
technical regulations.
