Dansk Standard

DS Standards

Dansk Standard - danish standards, DS standardsDanish Standards, DS, was originally founded in 1926.

Dansk Standard (Danish Standards) was founded on 1 January 1992 as a result of a merger of the former Danish Standards Association, the Danish Electrotechnical Committee and the Code of Practice Committee.

Danish Standards is a private independent, non-governmental organization. As from 1 January 2006, Danish Standards has a new political partner - Danish Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs. Danish Standards is the officially approved Danish central body for standardization. DS is a member of the ISO, IEC, the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), the European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC) and of the Nordic Standardization Co-operation (INSTA).

Furthermore, DS is the Danish WTO TBT Enquiry Point, according to the WTO TBT Agreement, and is also responsible for the EC information procedure concerning standards under the terms of EC Directive 98/34.

We are one of the leading certification enterprises in Denmark, providing certification of management systems, DS marking of products and approval of medical devices, and we issue European technical approvals.

Finally Ecolabelling Denmark is an independent part of Danish Standards.
