Asociación Espańola de Normalización y Certificación
UNE Standards
Established in 1986 as a non-profit private association, the Asociación Espańola de Normalización y Certificación (AENOR) undertook the responsibility formerly held by official authorities for the development, publication and promotion of Spanish standards (UNE standards), for which it has been granted recognition by law as the only body responsible. Being an active member of the main European and international standardization, for a AENOR's mission is to contribute, through the development of Standardization and Certification, to the improvement of quality within companies and also of their products and services, as well as to protect the environment and, therefore, the well-being of society.
Concerning certification activities, AENOR has been accredited as a certification entity by the Spanish National Accreditation Body (ENAC) as far as the certification of both quality and environmental management systems are concerned and certification of products and services according to national standards.
With the aim of facilitating access to standards and their implementation, and thereby contributing to the widespread culture of quality, AENOR provides a variety of services through its Info Centre, its Training Centre and the sales of standards and publications, all of which departments integrate new technologies in their offer (with a website, a web shop and a virtual library).
